Course Overview

The Baccalaureate in Religious Sciences (BRS – Theology) is a three-year regular programme offered in link with Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram, Bengaluru. The programme is approved by the Dicastery for Culture and Education (Holy See) and follows the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). Students are required to complete 180 ECTS credits, with each ECTS comprising 25–30 hours of academic engagement, including lectures, personal study, assignments, and examinations. The programme provides a strong foundation in Philosophy, theology and religious sciences, preparing students for academic excellence, pastoral ministry, and lifelong service to the Church and society.

Admission Requirements

Applicants seeking admission to the Baccalaureate in Religious Sciences (Theology-BRs) must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Successful completion of Higher Secondary Education (Plus Two) or an equivalent qualification with a minimum of 55% marks.
  • Submission of a recommendation letter from the competent ecclesial authority, such as the Parish Priest or the Superior of the Religious House.
  • Applicants who have completed previous studies in other theological Institutes or Faculties may be considered for admission after a careful scrutiny of the canonical validity of the certificates and academic qualifications submitted.
  • The Academic Council of the Institute reserves the right to evaluate such applications, and its decision regarding admission and recognition of previous studies shall be final.
